The instruments provided are as per the instructions of NCH, according to the CBDC curriculum. Some more is in the process of acquisition. Beside that the department also provides Audio visual CD, PPt files for qualitative theoretical and practical slides. Bedside demonstrations, clinical class and direct interaction with OPD and IPD patient, Bedside examination with provide the 2nd year BHMS student the clear vision about their knowledge. The entire faculty members are post graduate and well experienced. They provide adequate knowledge to each and every student of 2nd BHMS, which simplifies their learning process. Homoeopathic knowledge of individualization of every patient is to provide in clinical class. Duration of Pathology and microbiology in the Curriculum of BHMS is in the 2nd year. Studies comprised of complete study of Pathology and microbiology with the help of demonstration and practical class. University examination at the end of one year and every 3 month interval periodic assessment and Terminal examination is conducted. Departmental seminar and class project also conducted for active engagement of each student. The study of the pathology helps to understand the abnormalities in the functioning of the body. The primary objective of this department's instruction is to cultivate in every student a thorough comprehension of the subject. With the use of computers, PPTs, and other audio-visual tools, efforts are being made to make learning simpler.
The Subject Community Medicine is the Successor of which has been previously known as PUBLIC HEALTH, PREVENTIVE MEDICINE, SOCIAL MEDICINE and COMMUNITY HEALTH. So the COMMUNITY MEDICINE is the recent name.
Previously the name of this Subject was “HYGIENE”-then PREVENTIVE & SOCIAL MEDICINE then COMMUNITY MEDICINE.
In the Medical Science only this Subject Change the name time to time, of course having some utility, importancey and others.
The History of Community Medicine started for very beginning.
The Todd Commission in the year 1968 forcibly recommended that every Medical School should have a Dept. of Community Medicine.
The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and London and the Royal College of Physician and Surgens of Glassgow established the faculty of Community Medicine.
On the 31st March 1974, the traditional Medical Officer of Health passed into the pages of the History Book and was there after designated as the Community Medicine.
Diagnosis of the state of health of a Community is an important foundation of Community Medicine. As used in the present context, the Community Medicine is a practice which focuses on the health needs of the Community as a whole, the combination of Community Medicine with “Primary Health Care” extends the functioning of both elements to a Health Care System which aims to change the state of Health of the Community.
In our daily life we are using the dictum -“PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE” by all class of People.Prevention having great role of Medical Science. If we follow and gone through this Subject from very beginning then we can achieve our moto and also helpful for the Suffering Humanity.
